Mark C. Reed is the Vice President of Administrative and Student Affairs at Fairfield University.
Mark C. Reed serves as Vice President for Administrative and Student Affairs at Fairfield University. In this role, he leads and oversees the areas of student life, student services and development, athletics, facilities management, auxiliary services, safety and security, and campus ministry.
Reed came to Fairfield in 2000 as assistant to the Dean of the business school, served briefly in the office of Annual Giving, and was named Dean of Students in 2001. In June 2004, he was named Associate Vice President and Dean of Students. He was appointed Vice President for Student Affairs in 2005, and in 2007 was appointed to his current position. Reed also teaches courses as an adjunct faculty member, currently in the mathematics department. He is President-elect of the Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators (JASPA), a conference within the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU).
Reed's previous professional experience includes teaching and administration at the secondary level, at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, MA, and St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Fairfield University, a master's degree in secondary educational administration (with an emphasis on Catholic school leadership) from Boston College, an MBA from Fairfield, and a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.
Division of Administrative and Student Affairs
The Division of Administrative and Student Affairs is responsible for the majority of programs and services that occur outside of the traditional classroom environment. Such programs and services are integral to students' educational experience and personal development.
