Financial planners are in high demand!
Employment opportunities for personal financial advisors are expected to grow "faster than average through 2012," according to the Department of Labor's Occupational Outlook. In addition, "financial advisors who have the CFP® Certification are expected to have the best opportunity."

‌Certified Financial Planner™ professionals have high job satisfaction!

A 2007 survey by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board) reports that 89% of those who hold the CFP® certification are very satisfied with their career choice because helping people achieve their life goals provides emotional and financial rewards.

Did you know that Fairfield University's cumulative pass rate is higher than the national pass rate?
If you have been thinking of obtaining your CFP® certification but have been putting it off, Fairfield University is pleased to announce a flexible program that will allow you to be eligible to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination in either 12 months or our traditional 2-year or less program.

Our program is designed for the working individual who wants to earn their CFP® designation in a timely manner. We understand the complexities of working, raising a family, and being enrolled in a university program. That is why our courses are designed for you to choose between accelerating through the program or taking it course by course at your own pace.

Fairfield University recommends enrolling in a CFP exam review course prior to taking the Board exam. Suggested review courses are provided by KEIRDalton and Zahn.

Fairfield's program for financial planners has been established to meet the need for professionals appropriately trained to assist clients in planning for present and future financial security. The program is designed for people working in the areas of financial planning, insurance, banking, investments, accounting, and law as well as other professionals interested in learning more about the financial planning process.

The curriculum is designed to meet and exceed the criteria set by the Certified Financial Planners Board of Standards, Inc. The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification is the best-known certification in the financial planning community. The Fairfield University program has been registered with the Certified Financial Planners Board of Standards, Inc. as acceptable education for the CFP® Certification Examination. Students who complete the six courses may sit for the two-day CFP® Certification Examination.

"Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, and federally registered CFP (with flame logo) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete the CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements."

"Fairfield University does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, and CFP® certification marks. CFP® certification is granted solely by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to individuals who, in addition to completing and educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met ethics, experience and examination requirements."

Fairfield University awards a Certificate in Financial Planning upon completion of the 6 required courses in the financial planning program. Students must earn a letter grade of "C" or better in each course to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination and to receive the Fairfield University Certificate in Financial Planning.
