Information Systems & Operations Management - Internships

The vibrant business community in Fairfield County offers many exciting opportunities for you to work as a student intern during the semester or in the summer. More than 2,000 companies have sites in Fairfield County, and nearly 150 Fortune 500 companies have headquarters here. Many of these companies have growing needs in the Information Systems area. According to a report entitled "Jobs 2010: A Look at Connecticut's Workforce Needs Over the Coming Decade," Information Technology occupations are projected to be the fastest growing in the state.

As a student intern, you'll be supervised by a faculty member, an on-site mentor, and the Dolan School's Director of Internships. 3 to 6 credits may be earned through internships. In addition to helping to reinforce knowledge learned in the classroom, an internship can be a great resume builder, as many employers value past work experience. In the past, 85% of Dolan School of Business interns have received full-time job offers from their host companies. The opportunity to "test-drive" a possible career choice is just one of the many advantages of doing an internship at Fairfield University.
