1983 Hall of Fame Inductees

 

George R. Bisacca, athletic director, men's basketball coach: The "Father of Fairfield Basketball," George had a 10 year coaching record of 151 wins and 97 losses during his time as men's basketball coach from 1958-68. George also served as the athletic director from 1964-71.

Joseph T. von Ehr '74, track, cross country: Joseph was a member of the track and cross country teams from 1970-74, serving as captain in 1974. Joseph holds five school records including the 120 high hurdles (14.7 seconds), 440 intermediate hurdles (54.0 seconds), long jump (23'6") and two relay records (mile and two mile relay). Joseph holds the single season and career track scoring records.

Robert Jenkins Sr. '62, men's basketball: Robert was a member of the men's basketball team from 1958-62, serving as captain from 1961-62. He was a great all-around player and team leader. Robert made the ECAC All East Team in 1961 and was named to the Tri-State and NCAA Regional All Star Team in 1961. He was also awarded the team's Most Valuable Player Award in 1961 and 1962.

Joseph V. Kehoe '52, men's basketball: Joseph was a member of the men's basketball team from 1948-52, serving as captain in 1952. He was the first Fairfield player to score 1,000 points and his career total was 1,050 points.

Robert J. Markovic '54, men's basketball, baseball: Robert was a member of both the men's basketball and baseball teams from 1950-54. He served as the captain of the baseball team from 1953-54 and gained a reputation as a great all-around third baseman. Robert set a season scoring record in basketball during 1950-51 with 322 points and a single game scoring record during the 1951-52 season with 31 points.
