About the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts

Image: Quick CenterThe Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University is a multi-faceted facility that opened in 1990. It is situated in a continuously growing community that serves a large and ethnically diverse population, an ideal environment where the Center can grow while meeting the needs of the surrounding community. The Center has quickly become known as one of the finest concert halls in this country. It houses the:

  • 740-seat Kelley Theatre
  • 150-seat Lawrence A. Wien Experimental (Black Box) Theatre
  • Thomas J. Walsh, Jr. Art Gallery

Events include:

  • Popular and classical music
  • Dance
  • Theatre
  • Special events
  • Programs for young audiences

With each event, and as our own growth unfolds, we add workshops, master classes, lecture/demos for the students at the University and expansion into the community. Outreach is a significant component of the Center's mission. One focus is in the arts-in-education area, in which we schedule our series performances with additional engagements for the local school districts. There are additional programs to help supplement the local school districts in the educational process in cultural and arts activities. Through grants and funding, the Quick Center helps subsidize these programs for the schools.
