The Tennis Club (co-ed) at Fairfield just completed its sixth season of fall semester practice and competition. Several undergraduate students began the initiative for club tennis during the 2009-10 academic year.
Fairfield welcomes clubs to compete on campus utilizing the outdoor Walsh Athletic Center courts. As a result of their efforts, the tennis club hosted tournaments during the fall. The team will also travel regionally to compete throughout New England and the New York tri-state area.
Fairfield Club Tennis has joined United States Tennis Association (USTA) New England, the national governing body. This will afford the club an opportunity to participate in well organized regional and nationally sponsored tournaments in the years ahead.
More USTA information is available at www.newengland.usta.com.
The club expects to compete during both the fall and spring, participating in as many as four to six tournaments throughout each semester. Tournaments include male, female, and co-ed doubles matches. Typically, each event will involve competitors from several colleges and universities.
Fairfield University is proud to recognize the Men's and Women's Tennis Club.
