MFA in Creative Writing - The Fairfield University MFA Alumni Association
Writing may be a lonely profession, but the Fairfield University MFA in Creative Writing program is designed to forge bonds that will last a lifetime. We believe one of the most valuable elements of any graduate writing program is the supportive community of like-minded writers afforded to every student. Graduates of MFA creative writing programs often find themselves missing the special community of grad school; for Fairfield MFA graduates, school is just the beginning.
The Fairfield MFA Alumni Association (FMAA) was established to maintain an active, vibrant alumni community that keeps both the spirit and support of writing alive. Members of the alumni association have ongoing access to:
- Web-based community resources for sharing new work, opportunities, contacts, and inspiration
- Alumni attendance at ongoing program residencies on Enders Island, including invitations to high-profile guest lectures
- Full alumni participation in residencies abroad, including in Ireland and Italy, where alumni can continue to study alongside graduate students
- Semi-annual weekend residencies on Enders Island exclusively for alumni, including workshops led by Fairfield MFA faculty
- Alumni news updates
In addition, Fairfield is proud to offer the Fairfield MFA Alumni Fellowship, a partial merit-based scholarship for incoming MFA candidates demonstrating extraordinary promise and potential. This gift, which was established by the program's very first graduating cohort, is offered to one new student annually.
