Academic Support

Computing & Network Services provides a full range of computer hardware and software support to the faculty and students of Fairfield University. Drawn from across the full range of the department's staff, the support group includes Software Support Specialists, Lab Supervisors, an Instructional Support Specialist, and a UNIX Administrator.

For faculty, the Software Support Specialists and the Instructional Support Specialist will assist individual professors and instructors with specific projects or software packages, and provide general guidance in incorporating computer technology into their teaching. C&NS also supports the University's Distance Learning and Technology Classroom initiatives, and welcomes the input of all faculty, staff, and students concerning ways in which the department can assist in the teaching process.

Computing and Network Services offers computer-based training programs for use by faculty, as well as an on-line course development package called WebCT. For further information on WebCT, contact Mary Kleps at ext. 4069 or via e-mail at mkleps@mail.fairfield.edu.

Computer Labs and Instructional Classrooms

C&NS maintains a number of public computer labs and instructional classrooms which faculty can reserve for single class meetings or semester-long instruction.

To reserve an instructional classroom for semester-long use, please contact the Registrar's Office with the scheduled meeting times of the class and any specific software or hardware that will be required. For one-time use of a lab or instructional classroom, contact Steve Dailey at sdailey@mail.fairfield.edu or Mary Kleps at mkleps@mail.fairfield.edu.
