Macintosh Services
C&NS is committed to offering the faculty, staff, and students of Fairfield University a choice in their computing platforms. For that reason, Apple Macintosh computers are found on desktops, in public labs, and in electronic classrooms all over campus. A full range of support is provided for Macintosh users, and it is C&NS's intention to enable faculty and staff who choose to use the platform the same set of services and options that users of Windows computers receive.
As a demonstration of this commitment, C&NS has established a support team to specifically serve the campus's Macintosh needs. This team provides desktop support for faculty and staff, manages Mac classrooms, offers Mac-related training classes, manages the eMac e-mail kiosks in the library and the campus center, and administers all the Macintosh web and database servers on campus.
Public-use OS X Macs can be found in the following labs:
- Canisius 2 (20 G4 iMacs)
- DiMenna-Nyselius Library 24-hour Lab (8 G4 eMacs)
- Bannow 124 (16 G4 eMacs)
Macintosh-based teaching classrooms include:
- Bannow 137 (20 G4 iBooks & 20 G3 iBooks)
- Bannow Mobile Lab (BNW 300/318) (15 G4 PowerBooks)
- General Biology Classroom (restricted use) (25 G4 iBooks & 35 G3 iBooks)
