Scanning for Viruses (Mac)

To update your virus definitions:

• Launch the Norton AntiVirus program that can be found in your Applications folder and click on Live Update in the column on the left.
• In the Live Update window,; choose Update Everything Now, and your Norton program as well as your virus definitions will be automatically updated.

To run a virus scan on your computer:

• Launch the Norton AntiVirus program that can is found in your Applications folder.
• When your hard drive shows up as an icon, click on it onece to highlight it, then click on the Scan/Repair button in the bottom right-hand corner of the window.

To set your virus-definition updates and virus scans to run automatically:

• Launch the Norton AntiVirus program that can be found in your Applications folder and click on Schedule in the column on the left.
• When the Norton Scheduler window appears, click on the New button and choose the type of task you want to schedule (Product Update or Virus Scan).
• Choose the frequency, day, and time for the Update or Scan to take place. (If you're scheduling Product Updates, you should choose All Products, and if you're scheduling Virus Scans, you should choose your entire hard drive.)
