Applying for Summer Financial Aid

Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees vary by program. Please see Tuition and Fees for more information.

The summer semester is considered to be the last semester or trailer semester of an award year. Federal student loans are available to students planning to enroll for the summer semester provided the student:

  • Will be taking 6 credits in the summer semester,
  • Has not used their total annual aggregate loan amount during the fall and spring semesters at Fairfield University or at any other institution,
  • Will be matriculated into a degree-granting program,
  • Has met all federal regulatory requirements,
  • Is making satisfactory academic progress as defined by Fairfield University.

Current students that have not used their total federal student loan award for the year and would like to utilize their remaining loan eligibility for the summer session, should complete a Loan Request Form. This form should be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid at least 24 hours prior to coming to campus to register for the summer semester.

New student applicants that are applying for financial aid for the first time for the summer semester will need to complete the 2007-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at least four weeks prior to the beginning of the semester.

The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. It is recommended that students sign the FAFSA online with a PIN. The Department of Education issues Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) for students at www.pin.ed.gov, which can be used to sign the FAFSA electronically.

Fairfield University's Federal School Code is 001385.
