Enrollment in benefits is not automatic upon employment. Please contact the Office of Human Resources for enrollment options.

  • Generous paid time off plans are available (Sick, Personal, Vacation)
  • A comprehensive health insurance plan is available to all full-time employees. Enhancements to this basic coverage are available with employee contribution through payroll deduction.
  • Life insurance plans are available at 1.5 times employees' annual salary up to a maximum of $100,000. Optional Additional and Supplemental Life Insurance are now available paid by the employee.
  • Long Term Disability Plan - Up to 60% of the base annual salary until age 65 if you qualify under the Worker's Compensation standards.
  • Paid/Unpaid Leave (Family Medical Leave, Personal Leave)
  • Retirement and Annuity Plans - University contributes 10% of employee base salary when the employee contributes at least 2.5%. Employees have a one-year wait from the start of employment, and then the employee can participate with full and immediate 100% vesting.

  • Summer Flexible Schedule is available for employees to have unpaid time off while continuing their university paid health insurance benefits. It is important that all employees obtain their supervisor's approval and coordinate their absence with the needs and demands of the department as well as their normal work schedule.
  • Tuition Benefits:
  • Grant-In-Aid Programs - Employer paid tuition programs University employees children attending Fairfield Preparatory School and/or Fairfield University
  • Tuition Remission - Employer paid tuition programs for University employees and their spouses attending Fairfield University for up to a maximum of 15 credit hours per person per academic year
  • Fairfield University also participates in Tuition Exchange and FACHEX programs that provide tuition benefits for dependent children of Fairfield University personnel.

Anthem blue Cross and Blue Shield members with prescription drug benefits now have easy and convenient access to a full range of over-the-counter (OTC) products and services through Anthem Prescription Management (APM) and CVS.com, the online subsidiary of CVS Pharmacy.
This newly formed relationship with CVS.com offers a one-stop shopping experience, making available approximately 18,000 prescription and non-prescription products, at a discount, to members.

Easy to Use
Members with prescription drug benefits can access the OTC program by logging onto www.anthemprescription.com where there is a link to the www.CVS.com site. As a preferred customer, the member will receive discounted shipping on selected orders.

  • Currently, the University offers one health plan with three coverage options: Option I includes enhanced dental coverage, Option II includes enhanced prescription drug/vision and hearing coverage, and Option III, includes enhanced dental/prescription drug/vision and hearing coverage. Employee pays 10% of the least expensive coverage, Option I, 10% plus the difference between the cost of Option II and Option III.
