Roles, Regulations, and Responsibilities of SOBOG
SOBOG General Assemblies
SOBOG officials will hold a general assembly meeting each month in order to build community, distribute information and help club officers improve governance and programs.
Each Organization is required to send one representative to each General Assembly. If an organization fails to send a representative to the general assembly they must arrange a time to receive an update on information missed or risk losing university funding.
SOBOG Positions and Responsibilities
Chair of SOBOG
- Oversees the allocation of funds to clubs and organizations
- Shall chair all SOBOG General Assembly meetings
- Shall appoint Vice Chair of Finance and Vice Chair of Communications
Vice Chair of Finance
- Shall be the official bookkeeper of SOBOG and will be responsible for processing all SOBOG funding allocation with the Office of Student Activities within 48 hours of allocation
- Follow up on all allocations and keep contact with the specific club needing the allocation
- Present a short, weekly report to the Chairperson on the status of the SOBOG budget and all financial activity of the week
- Meet with FUSA Secretary of Treasury at least twice each month
Vice Chair of Communications
- Keep attendance and minutes at all SOBOG meetings and distributes all minutes to all SOBOG members and guests
- Serve as chief correspondent of the Board, post all messages to governors and inform governors of any meetings at least two days prior to meeting with all pertinent information
- Keep official record of all Board of Governors proceedings including, but not limited to minutes, agenda, voting records, and money allocation information
Board of Governors
- Official body hearing all club requests for funding and will act as the voting members at all SOBOG meetings
- Attend scheduled meetings regularly
- Official spokespersons for the clubs that fall under their respective categories
- Maintain communication with clubs that fall under their respective brackets and make recommendations to one another regarding club matters that fall within their own brackets
- Assist in organizing all SOBOG programming events
