International Students

Application deadlines for students outside the United States:

• May 15 for fall admission 
• Oct. 15 for spring admission

The application requirements are the following for all international students:

1. signed application form
2. $60 non-refundable application fee
3. personal statement
4. two recommendations
5. completed immunization requirement
6. Certificate of finances in U.S. dollars. Bank seal & official bank signature is required on bank letterhead. Click to download form.
7. Certified English translations and course-by-course evaluations from approved evaluators of all academic records. Click to download list of approved evaluators.
8. TOEFL test results if student's native language is not English. Fairfield's ETS code is 3390. (composite score of 550 for the paper test or 213 for the computer-based test is recommended)

International transfer students currently in the US with an F-1 Visa and attending another institution must submit the following documentation in addition to the above application requirements 30 days prior to the start of the semester:

1. A copy of the student's unexpired passport visa
2. A copy of the I-94 Arrival/ Departure Record (the small, white card staple into the passport)
3. Copies of the previous I-20's issued to the student by other institutions
4. SEVIS Transfer form

TOEFL

All international students whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. A TOEFL composite score of 550 for the paper test or 213 for the computer-based test is strongly recommended for admission to the graduate school. Scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (Fairfield's ETS code is 3390). The TOEFL may be waived for those international students who have earned an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university.
