Realizing Your Dream of a Fairfield Education
Investing in your graduate education is often a major financial decision. Many students need to look beyond their own resources or the resources of their employer for assistance. Affording a Fairfield education is possible, if viewed in the broadest perspective and planned properly. Without question, the lifelong benefits of a Fairfield education will far exceed the expenses involved.
The Office of Financial Aid is committed to helping students find the options available that best suit each student's needs. We offer a number of ways to help you finance your education:
Assistantships
A limited number of part- and full-time University assistantships are available to assist promising and deserving students.
Federal Stafford Loans
Under this program, graduate students may apply for up to $20,500 per academic year, depending on their educational costs.
Tax Deductions
Treasury regulation (1.162.5) permits an income tax deduction for educational expenses (registration fees and the cost of travel, meals and lodging) undertaken to: maintain or improve skills required in one's employment or other trade or business; or meet express requirements of an employer or a law imposed as a condition to retention of employment job status or rate of compensation.
Veterans
Veterans may apply educational benefits to degree studies pursued at Fairfield University. Fairfield has a long history of working with veterans, and we have recently introduced our Veterans Pride Program which further enhances tuition benefits for qualified veterans.
Please review the information provided on our financial aid process (through the left navigation bar), the costs associated with attending the various graduate programs, and frequently asked questions. We encourage all current and prospective Fairfield University graduate students to call or make an appointment to speak with our Associate Director of Financial Aid and Financial Aid Counselor for Graduate and Continuing Studies, Diana M. DeVellis, for any assistance on applying for financial aid to help with financing a graduate degree.
