Bookstore

The University Bookstore is located in the John A. Barone Campus Center (BCC). However, students may order their books online at http://www.fairfield.bkstr.com/

StagWeb

StagWeb is an official means of communication between students and the University. Registered GSEAP students are eligible for a StagWeb account, which includes e-mail service. StagWeb is a personalized web interface that creates a virtual campus that never closes. Using a unique login and password, students can receive targeted announcements and e-mail messages from the University. Through a secure connection, students can also access academic and financial information, such as their grades, unofficial transcripts, and course schedules. Account applications are available through the Office of Administrative Computing-SCT located in Dolan Commons. Call (203) 254-4357 for specifics.

Class Cancellations/Closings

Class cancellations are announced over the following radio stations, generally after 2:00 p.m.:

WICC (600 AM) - Bridgeport
WEZN (99.9 FM) - Bridgeport
WNLK (1350 AM) - Norwalk
WSTC (1400 AM) - Stamford
WVOF (88.5 FM) - Fairfield

as well as posted on the University website. Classes are rarely cancelled.


Food

Housing Information

There is no on-campus housing for graduate students. However, many out of state students have found housing in apartments or rooms in private homes in Fairfield and the surrounding communities and commute to campus.

I.D. (StagCard)

Student I.D.s are available at the StagCard Office in the Kelley Center. First-time students will get picture I.D.s that are electronically updated in future semesters. Call 254-4009 for hours for taking a photo and issuing your I.D.

Your Stagcard also serves as your library card, dining card (with Stagbucks account), building key, etc. See http://www.fairfield.edu/stagcard


Jobs and Networking

Job openings are listed on several Fairfield websites. The Career Planning Center in the Kelley Center posts jobs in the field of education on its website, including teaching, school psychology and school counseling positions, and will offer assistance to Fairfield University graduate alums or those nearing graduation from graduate programs. Start by checking opportunities online at http://www.fairfield.edu/careers. Call 254-4000, ext. 4081 for more information and/or an appointment.

Networking is an essential element in a successful job search, and the best networking is available through the Fairfield Alumni Network (FAN). Read about how it works.


Parking

In order to park on campus without being ticketed, you will need a parking sticker. Just take your course registration verification and your car registration to the Security Department in Loyola Hall Room 2 to apply for and receive a sticker. The Security Department is open 24 hours a day. Call 254-4090 for more information. See the Department of Public Safety for specific regulations and information about parking on campus.


Professional Organizations for GSEAP Students

There are several professional organizations on campus for GSEAP students. Enrich your graduate school experience by learning about Fairfield University chapters of these professional organizations. They can provide you with opportunities for networking, professional development, access to current thought in a profession and a variety of services. There will be a general meeting of these chapters early in the semester. Get involved!
