Administration Positions
Advancement Research Coordinator
This position provides operational assistance for the Advancement Research Department, maintains and generates research data and is also responsible for the general procedures of the office. Demonstrated organizational and detail-oriented abilities as well as computer proficiency in MS Office and database management are required. Knowledge of Front Page is preferred. A Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent related education/experience. A minimum of 2-3 years of office experience is required. Advancement Technology Specialist
Under the direction of the Director, the incumbent will create and implement a professional development program for the Advancement Division, work collaboratively with staff to develop a policy and procedure program and provide first-line technical support (hardware and software) for Advancement. To be successful, the individual must have strong customer-service orientation, be self-motivated and be able to create and maintain good working relationships with a variety of internal and external constituents. Must possess excellent written, analytical and verbal communications skills, as well as demonstrated project management, organizational and multi-tasking skills. The incumbent must be proficient on the computer with a variety of applications including, but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, FileMaker Pro and Adobe Design CS3 Suite. HTML and prior relational database experience, specifically with the Banner system is preferred. Experience in a university fundraising setting is highly desirable. A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of similar experience in a customer-oriented environment is required. Alumni Relations Coordinator
The Alumni Relations Coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day operational aspects of the Office of Alumni Relations and provide general operational support for professional staff; provide assistance and attend, as appropriate, alumni relations and advancement special events; serve as class notes editor for Fairfield Now magazine; coordinate all alumni board communications and mailings; and monitor the Alumni Relations Department and Alumni Association budgets. A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years office experience is required. Experience with organizing a high volume of communications and correspondence, as well as proofreading content, is also necessary. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse audiences and a high level of customer service with attention to detail while multi-tasking is required. Assistant Coach, Men's Lacrosse
This position is responsible for the usual and customary duties attendant to assisting in the coaching of an athletic program. The position is also responsible for knowledge and skills in lacrosse. Assistant Dean, College of Arts & Sciences
This position assists the Dean with the management of the day-to-day administrative functions of the College of Arts and Sciences, coordinates and manages college student advising and monitors course enrollments to ensure proper utilization of faculty resources. Computer literacy and data management skills are required, as well as demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectiveley with faculty and students and an understanding of and commitment to the goals of liberal arts education are necessary. Manager of HRIS and Compensation
This position is responsible for the administration of the Human Resources information system and compensation program. Also functions as the key administrator for all Human Resources data-driven systems and reports, as well as University's wage and salary program. A Bachelor's degree in a related field of study is required and a Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of Human Resources generalist experience, with demonstrated knowledge of relational database systems and emphasis in the administration of wage and salary programs is desired. Knowledge of recruitment, benefits, employee relations and counseling are required, as is Microsoft Excel and Access. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Senior Network Support Specialist
This position monitors network performance and installs, maintains, upgrades and proactively replaces a portion of the campus Windows 2000 & 2003 servers and software to ensure a reliable, secure and robust networking environment. Keeps up-to-date on networking innovations and recommends the best networking solutions to Network Manager. Keeps in close communications with infrastructure group, with MAC Network group and with SunGard HE informing those groups of network load, usage, problems and other information. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of server hardware and networking software, needs excellent communications skills and must be a motivated self-starter, especially in the area of learning new hardware and technology. Must possess an excellent customer service orientation toward internal staff and campus users and must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures appropriate for a technical support field. Staff Nurse (part-time)
The position provides medical treatment for undergraduate and graduate students with university sponsored insurance as well as providing emergency first-aid for students. This position also provides operational support within the Student Health Center. Must work 24 hours per week which consists of every other weekend (nights) and one evening shift. The Health Center is open 24/7 during the academic year and the day shift during the summer. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred and must be a Registered Nurse in Connecticut. Continuing education in late adolescent issues is highly desirable. A minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience and demonstrated interpersonal skills are required. Circulation Media Assistant
This position performs general library clerical tasks. A high school diploma or equivalent is required and an Associate's degree or LTA certificate is preferred. Operations Assistant II, College of Arts and Sciences
This position assists the Associate Dean and Assistant Dean by providing secretarial support. The position serves as a point of contact, scheduler and active member of the help desk team for faculty, staff, administration and students. Also handles various office support and technology-based duties. Computer Technician I
This position responds to trouble calls from campus users and troubleshoots over the phone, via remote monitoring or scheduling office visits. Installs new computers, peripherals and software as well as troubleshoots supported campus software. An Associate's degree preferably in a technical field or equivalent related technical experience is required and A-Plus Certification is preferred. Must possess a minimum of 2 years experience in the technical field, demonstrated working knowledge of Intel microcomputers, printers and peripherals. Experience troubleshooting other operating systems a plus. Must have excellent communication skills, good sense of humor, motivated, self-starter, especially in the area of learning new hardware and new software is a necessity. Most importantly, must possess an excellent customer service orientation toward internal staff and campus users. Groundskeeper
This position provides day-to-day grounds maintenance services including snow removal during winter months. Responsible for transporting large deliveries of furniture/equipment and sets up for University functions. Utilizes and ensures the proper maintenance and upkeep of all grounds vehicles and equipment. Mandatory overtime maybe required. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Also, must be available for emergency situations. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. A minimum of 2-3 years as a groundskeeper within a university environment is desired. Possession of a valid Connecticut motor vehicle license and possession of State of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection Operational license is required. Painter
The ideal candidate will be required to complete painting assignments, facilitate in supervising 5-6 summer assistants, and ensure the proper maintenance of painting vehicles. A High School Diploma and 2 years experience in painting is required, in addition to the possession of a valid CT motor vehicle license in good standing.
