Fall 2013 RCADE Workshops

Every semester the Media Center offers free RCADE workshops for the Fairfield University community. These workshops provide an opportunity for faculty, students and staff to plunge into the world of digital artistry and applications by offering access to new digital media production methods and tools.

Where? All workshops are held in the Media Center's RCADE Lab located in Room G-15 on the ground floor of Xavier Hall.

When? On selected Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the semester.

How do I sign up? E-mail your request to RCADE@fairfield.edu. Please specify the title of the workshop, its day and date, as well as time. All workshops are limited to 15 participants.

Introduction to Adobe Premiere CS6
Sep. 16th, 23th, 30th; Oct. 7th, 21st, 28th; Nov. 4th, 11th, 18th Mondays 5 p.m.-6:15 p.m.

This workshop is designed for those with little or no experience of using the video editing software Adobe Premiere. Participants will learn the basic layout of the program along with the standard tools and techniques through hands-on instructions and demonstrations. There will be time at the end of the workshop to go over more in-depth questions.

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop CS6
Sep. 18th; Oct. 9th, 30th; Nov. 20th Wednesday 5 p.m.-6:15p.m.

This workshop is designed for those with little or no experience of using the image editing software Photoshop CS6. Participants will learn the how to navigate within the program along with the standard tools and techniques through hands-on instructions and demonstrations. There will be time at the end of the workshop to go over more in-depth questions.

Introduction to Final Cut PRO X
Oct. 2nd, 23rd; Nov. 13th Wednesday 5 p.m.-6:15 p.m.

This workshop is designed for those with little or no experience of using the newest Mac-based video editing software Final Cut Pro X. Participants will learn the basic layout of the program along with the standard tools and techniques through hands-on instructions and demonstrations. There will be time at the end of the workshop to go over more in-depth questions.

Introduction to iMovie
Sep. 25th; Oct. 16th; Nov. 6th Wednesday 5 p.m.-6:15 p.m.

This workshop is designed for those with little or no experience of using the basic Mac video editing software iMovie. Participants will learn the basic layout of the program along with the standard tools and techniques through hands-on instructions and demonstrations. There will be time at the end of the workshop to go over more in-depth questions.
