FM 101 - Filmmaker Studies
|
Each semester that it is offered, this course takes up the study if one or more individual filmmakers, primarily directors, and surveys that person's body of work, examining major themes, techniques, motifs, topics, collaborations, and seeks to measure and evaluate his or her contribution to the history and craft of film.
Filmmakers have included Alfred Hitchcock, Woody Allen, John Huston, D.W. Griffith & Charlie Chaplin, Lon Chaney and Buster Keaton, Quenton Tarantino and the Coen Brothers. This course fulfills a visual and performing arts core requirement in history. Three credits.
