New Media letter CTL 105 - Broadcast Management

This course is designed to orient future broadcast hopefuls to the challenges and mechanics of running a successful broadcast operation, whether it be television, radio or one of the new media industries. If one aspires to be an on-air performer, it will be an invaluable insight into what makes management tick. The course will cover strategies of programming, promotion, audience research, advertising sales and other ancillary challenges which affect the performance of a broadcast facility. This is an elective history/theory course in the Television and Radio track of the New Media, Film, Television and Radio program of the Visual and Performing Arts Department, and fulfills a history requirement for the Visual and Performing Arts core. Three credits.
