Men's Volleyball

2008 Season

Fairfield University Men's Volleyball recently completed another successful spring season. In April, the club traveled to the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Volleyball Championship in Dallas, Texas. The Stags finished the year with a 17th place national ranking at the tournament.

Two club members were selected to the Division I All Tournament Team: Brenton Roman '10 (outside hitter) and Omar Ajaj '08 (outside hitter).

Fairfield Men's Volleyball members garnered six spots on the NECVL first and second All Tournament Teams, as well as the Most Valuable Player Award at the conclusion of the Spring '07 season.

The Club team is a member of the NECVL, New England Collegiate Volleyball League (www.necvl.org), which consists of approximately 40 college and university clubs in the New England area. Competition includes, but is not limited to, UConn, Yale, Providence College, Boston College, Army, and MIT.

Although a relatively new organization, Fairfield Club Volleyball has progressed and developed into one of the strongest competitive programs in the Northeast. With a wealth of newcomers and experienced veterans, Fairfield qualified for the NECVL Championships in 2002, in which the top 20 teams in the league played in a two-day tournament for the league championship. The team has also competed in NIRSA National Championships in Kansas City (2001) and Dallas (2002). The club is open to all. No experience is necessary - just a willingness to play volleyball and have fun!
