Life in Residence
As a residential campus, life in the halls, townhouses, and apartments can and should be an integral part of the Fairfield undergraduate's four-year experience. Programs and activities specific to a hall or residential area are sponsored by RAs, Townhouse and Apartment Managers, and Area Coordinators. Residence Life staff members sponsor programs on their own but also partner with other RAs or offices, such as the Recreation Department, Athletic Department, Office of Student Activities & Facilities, Campus Ministry, and individual faculty or academic departments, to provide a diverse array of activities designed to enrich students' lives and help them be more fully engaged in the life of the University.

Residence-Based Associations
Each of the residence halls, as well as the townhouse and apartment areas, have a Residential Community Council (RCC) for that particular hall or area. Collectively, these groups can come together under one umbrella to represent the interests and concerns of resident students. While not a substitute for the larger and broader scope of the Fairfield University Student Association (FUSA), these individual councils and the collective group speak more directly to specific issues around residence life at Fairfield. Residential Community Councils have annual budgets available to them which are derived from student fees.
Each Residential Community Council reports directly to the Inter-Residential Housing Association, the executive branch of the organization. IRHA is governed by upper-class Fairfield students who also live in residence at Fairfield. IRHA strives to build community through programs while serving as advocates for all students living on campus. | |
