Engineering Student Society

The Engineering Student Society (ESS) is the umbrella organization for several student branches of professional engineering societies, such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), including Computer and Software Engineers, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). ESS is chartered by the Fairfield University Student Government. In addition, SWE is recognized nationally as a collegiate chapter.

The faculty advisor for ESS is Dr. Jerry Sergent, chair of the electrical engineering program.

ESS holds meetings monthly and provides a forum for advancing engineering knowledge and establishing special bonds among its student members.
