Upcoming Construction Projects and Road Detours
Starting on Monday, May 21, 2012 and continuing through mid-August, two significant construction projects will begin which will require certain campus roads to be subject to detour.
Fairfield Prep will be expanding its Student Life facilities in Berchmans Hall. This will require the closure of Prep Alley, which is the portion of McInnes Road between Berchmans Hall and the Quick RecPlex, as well as the southern side of Loyola Drive, the part of the roadway closest to Prep.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on Loyola Drive on the northern side of the roadway, the side closer to McAuliffe Hall. The lanes will be marked with traffic cones.
Access to the Barone Campus Center parking lot from North Benson Road will be available through the Prep gate.
Kelley Center Stairway & Crosswalk
At the Kelley Center, a stairway and crosswalk will be installed connecting the south side of the building and Loyola Drive. This will require Loyola Drive between the Kelley Center and the Barone Campus Center to be reduced to one lane of traffic. The traffic circle will be one way northbound, i.e., cars will only be able to travel past the Barone Campus Center and Loyola Hall to the Jogues Gate.
Access to both Kelley Center parking lots will remain available. However, patrons using the west lot (closer to Loyola Hall) will need to enter and exit through the Jogues Gate on Round Hill Road.
