The Fairfield University Marketing Certificate covers the fundamental concepts and theories that drive day-to-day marketing decisions. A thorough understanding of the marketplace (consumer or business-to-business) is at the heart of such decision-making, and students develop skills for identifying the customer's wants and needs and for satisfying these demands. From there the program focuses on the many changes that are occurring in the advertising industry and how they influence advertising and promotional strategies and tactics. Students conclude the certificate with the Strategic Planning course where they earn an appreciation of the role marketing research plays in reducing the risks associated with marketing decisions.

This program is designed for professionals:

  • In the field of marketing and who are responsible for getting a product or service in front of the customer
  • Who conduct and evaluate marketing research projects
  • Who would benefit by understanding the customer’s point of view and its impact on a product or service
