Facilities
The studio art program, located in Loyola Hall, features a variety of studios and three art galleries. Work and class space includes: two painting/drawing/mixed media studios; a printmaking studio, specializing in etching and screen-printing; a sculpture studio with a woodworking shop and plaster room; an experimental space for special projects. Our art galleries play an integral role in the curriculum.
These include three Student galleries: The Lukacs Gallery, the Experimental Space and Gallery 10, which also functions as an image viewing room." In addition, the Metropolitan Museum of Art Cast Collection, on loan to Fairfield and restored by our students, is used in classes for drawing, figure studies, and photography. Finally, Fairfield University is home to the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, a full-performance venue that features two theatres and the Thomas J. Walsh Art Gallery. Opened in 1990, the gallery establishes direct and active connections with students and faculty. As a practical study laboratory and host to diverse exhibitions and lectures, the gallery is a significant and visible symbol of the importance of the arts at Fairfield University.
