What to know about University-sponsored travel


The International Sponsored Travel Policy constitutes a risk-management policy intended to support the health, safety, and welfare of University staff, faculty, and students. It is intended to facilitate comprehensive health, safety, and risk-management review concerning University-sponsored international and domestic travel.

Since responsible and accountable planning and preparation is an essential component of successful sponsored travel, all students seeking to participate in individual travel sponsored by Fairfield University are required to follow the University's Sponsored Travel Policy.

Faculty and Staff Resources for Sponsored Travel


The appropriate approvals for all sponsored travel, either individual or in groups, must be obtained before the commitment of any University resources and/or before participation in the travel event. 

The appropriate approvals for all programs involved in sponsored international travel in which the faculty/staff are traveling with students in the capacity of group leader must be obtained through the Program Proposal process.
