Fairfield University's Master of Arts in Instructional Design is ideal for both working professionals and recent graduates who want to excel in the field of online learning. Candidates will master the design, development, and implementation of online learning environments for adult learners, while also exploring relevant learning theory.

What You'll Learn and Do

Master leadership of digital learning.

This fully online program allows candidates to master the design, development, and implementation of online learning environments for adult learners, while also exploring relevant learning theory. The program also emphasizes the understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the context of digital learning. Graduates of the program will develop the expertise to lead within their field of choice including corporate, academic, non-profit, governmental, and medical.

Advance instructional careers.

Evolve your skills to meet the needs of today. Through an MA in instructional design, students will apply new perspectives and skills on their path to a career in Instructional Design while growing alongside a diverse group of educators in a collaborative learning environment. This degree can pave the way for advancement within your field of choice or set you apart from others in a job search.

Fairfield’s instructional design curriculum will allow students to explain and apply the concepts of effective instructional design for adult learners while considering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the context of digital learning.

MA students will be able to design, develop, implement, and evaluate online instructional design using models while managing large and small instructional design projects from start to finish.
