What We Do

The Dolan Career Development Center provides professional development services for undergraduate and graduate students to enrich their academic experiences and inspire tomorrow's business leaders. These opportunities allow students to learn about themselves, and about the business world, as well as to apply what they are learning in the classroom.

The Dolan Distinction

Internships

Fairfield Dolan views practical experience as an important part of your academic program. An internship will give students the opportunity to apply classroom theories to real-world situations and use on-the-job experiences to enrich their academic programs while giving them a competitive edge in the job market.

Internship Stipends

The Fairfield Dolan Social Impact Summer Internship Program provides internship opportunities for students at local non-profit organizations.

Interview Preparation

Mock Interviews offer invaluable opportunities to get instant feedback to improve interview skills. Throughout the academic year students receive several opportunities to meet with Center staff, recruiters, and alumni to hone their interview skills.

Individualized Career Coaching

The Dolan Career Development Center's team is available to meet with undergraduate and graduate students during drop-in hours or by appointment. Common topics discussed include career exploration, internship search strategies, and salary negotiation.

Leadership Coaching

Graduate students can apply to the DCDC Leadership Coaching program, New Level Work, which will accept 12 students this year. Accepted students will take a DISC assessment, be matched with a leadership coach, and meet with them at least four times during the semester. A certificate will be issued at the end of the program in December.

Networking

We offer many networking opportunities for students to meet with alumni, employers, and community partners. This is a mutually beneficial opportunity that allows students to learn about potential careers, internships, and job opportunities while employers look for potential talent.

Workshops & Events

Fairfield Dolan hosts over one hundred career-focused workshops and events throughout the year, including mock interviews, employer resume reviews, networking events, Money TALKS, and the Excel Workshop Series.

Employment Services

Hundreds of employers work with the Dolan Career Development Center and Fairfield University Career Center to offer on-campus interviews, collect resumes, and list positions through Stags4Hire.
