Ryan, ‘26, Norwood, MA, Major: Economics

“Receiving scholarship support relieves the financial stress and helps me focus more on my academics. Finances are a big part of college, and having an additional scholarship has a large positive impact on mental stress and academic performance.”

Maria, ‘25, Plymouth, MA, Major: Computer Science

“I chose to attend Fairfield University based on the sense of community I felt at Orientation, the countless opportunities offered for my major, and the beautiful campus. Since visiting campus, I knew Fairfield would be my forever home.

I am sincerely honored to receive your support. Thank you for your generosity which helps me focus on my education and studies rather than worrying about my tuition debt. It also motivates me to work harder and strive for excellence. Thank you. My family and I greatly appreciate your support.”

"We support Fairfield because we understand that we did not build our life together on our own,” he said. “I don’t know if I deserved that scholarship more than someone else, and it’s impossible to pay back all of the people here who helped us become who we are. Instead, we pay it forward. We were ready to be part of [the donor] community sooner rather than later, with the hope that we could impact more students."

When Robert Dawe ’72, MD, began his pre-med studies more than 50 years ago, Fairfield did not yet have a nursing program. At that time, most nurses trained at hospital-based nursing schools and the traditional practice of nursing was evolving. It was an evolution Dr. Dawe saw embodied in the nurse who would become his wife.
