Black Art Fund

A collage featuring a variety of colorful paintings and drawings, showcasing diverse artistic styles and techniques.

In 2021, the museum announced the creation of the Black Art Fund, a new fundraising initiative to support the acquisition of artwork by contemporary Black artists, to address a major gap in the museum’s permanent collection.

The museum is seeking both financial contributions to this fund, and donations of museum quality artworks to achieve greater representation and recognition of non-white artists and artworks.

As of Spring 2025, we have received 49 gifts of artwork, and have purchased 38 works with the funds that we have raised.

If you are interested in making a donation of museum-quality artwork, please contact Carey Weber, Executive Director.
