We're committed to every aspect of your student's education — including helping you afford it. Parent Engagement & Philanthropy

At Fairfield University, the parents and families of our students are an important part of our campus community. Your support and encouragement continue to play a key role in our students’ personal and professional development.

Parent & Guardian Checklist

Parents and Guardians, your student has several action items to accomplish as part of their onboarding process in Workday. They should check the email address they used to apply to Fairfield for more information about accessing and completing their onboarding tasks in early April.

However, there are specific action items that they may need your help with and/or for you to complete on your own. Please note some of the following action items are part of the student onboarding process. If you decide to complete an item below, please ensure that your student has not already done it.

Fairfield University requires that all full-time undergraduate students maintain or purchase a Affordable Care Act (ACA)-compliant health insurance policy from a U.S. based provider. Under Fairfield’s “hard waiver” program, full-time undergraduate students are automatically enrolled in, and billed for, this policy each July for the upcoming academic year.

If a student has access to comparable or better health insurance through other means (e.g. parents’ coverage), and does not wish to be enrolled in the University sponsored plan, the student must complete the online waiver and provide proof of coverage.
