Created for the New York Academy of Medicine's #ColorOurCollections week, Fairfield University's library joins cultural institutions around the world to highlight illustrations from its circulating collection.
For the fourth year in a row, the DiMenna-Nyselius Library has released a digital coloring book as part of the New York Academy of Medicine's #ColorOurCollections Week. Started in 2016, #ColorOurCollections is a week-long coloring festival during which libraries, museums, archives, and other cultural institutions around the world share free coloring content showcasing images from their collections on social media. This year’s coloring book features books from the Fairfield University library’s circulating collection, while in previous years they highlighted books from the library’s special collections and archives.
Books were selected based on images the library staff felt people would find fun to color. The coloring book will be available for download as well as at the DiMenna-Nyselius Library during various de-stress events throughout the semester. Illustrations were curated by Eden Marchese '23 and Research and Outreach Librarian Matthew Blaine. The coloring book includes original artwork on the back cover by Brooke Lathe '24.
