What are you looking forward to most this season?
This upcoming tennis season is so exciting for me as training has shown just how strong and hardworking every player on the team is. We’ve only had a few matches so far this year, but each time we’ve taken huge steps toward being ready for our MAAC games. I am looking forward to returning to the finals this year and taking home that MAAC championship, as I truly believe we have the team for it.
What do you enjoy most about being a member of the Women’s Tennis team?
The best part about being on a Fairfield University athletic team is the fact that it really is a family. My team has been there for me at my lowest points and my biggest successes. It’s inspirational to be a part of a team who are working towards the same goal on the court and pushes you to be a better person off the court too.
What is your favorite Fairfield memory?
My all-time favorite memory from Fairfield has to be the Athletics talent show last year, where we performed a Pitch Perfect number in front of the whole of athletics. Practicing with the team was such a laugh, as we were able to bond over doing something silly (and our routine turned out pretty good). I have to say we definitely deserved a place in the top three but I’m not holding a grudge.
How has your experience at Fairfield University influenced your life and perspective?
My experience so far at Fairfield University has influenced my life by helping me develop friendships with people from all over the world. I feel I’m surrounded by a group of caring, hardworking, and motivated people — not just within the tennis program but throughout all Athletics teams and classes.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation are somewhat scary to think about as an international student in the US. I’d love to work in NYC as a digital/social media marketer, with a specialty in sports. I think tennis will always be a part of my life no matter the industry I head into, so I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
