Stags from near and far came together for One Day — STAGiving Day — as One Fairfield, to surpass our fundraising goal and to support the students, faculty, staff, programs, and initiatives that help to enhance the Fairfield experience for all current and future students.
Fairfield University students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends joined together during the ninth annual STAGiving Day, March 22, to support what means most to them at Fairfield. With a strong showing of Stag spirit throughout the day, the Fairfield community surpassed the STAGiving Day goal and made more than 3,200 gifts to unlock over $1.1 million in challenge funds, topping more than $3.6 million dollars to support the needs of our Fairfield community.
This year, donors made gifts to 136 funds across campus and through their giving showed what initiatives and programs are most important to them. Additionally, they completed over 45 challenges, unlocking dollars to more than 35 areas, and generated over 203K social interactions to help make STAGiving Day such a success.
“We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous showing of support from our entire Fairfield community this STAGiving Day,” says Wally Halas, Vice President for Advancement. “The number of Stags who join us on this important day only continues to grow which I believe is a reflection of the continued rise and success of our University as a whole.”
The Fairfield Athletics community also showed its Stag spirit on STAGiving Day, with more than 1,360 gifts made in support of an athletics program, raising over $1.34 million for Fairfield student-athletes. “Our Friends of Fairfield Athletics continue to have a dramatic, positive impact on our student-athletes, coaches, and programs,” said Paul Schlickmann, vice president for athletics. “The passionate support from our Stags family provides critical resources to enhance all aspects of the competitive, educational, and developmental components of their experience. We are grateful for the exceptional generosity and loyal commitment that resulted in a record-setting day to benefit Stags athletics!”
In addition to our University family from around the world joining the fun on STAGiving Day, the on-campus community also engaged in some exciting STAGiving Day festivities throughout the day. This included a student scavenger hunt and a campus celebration at the Barone Campus Center Dogwood Room where treats, games, and photo ops were available for everyone to enjoy. During the campus celebration, students, faculty, and staff also voted on their most valued areas of support, with the top three initiatives winning extra funding. See photos from the on-campus festivities below.
The success of STAGiving Day 2023 was only made possible by the giving spirit of our Fairfield community of students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends.
