AFW is Here: RugbyFest, Food Trucks, and Fun, This Weekend

RECONNECT. ENJOY. NETWORK. Alumni & Family Weekend starts today! It’s never been a better time to be a Stag.

This weekend, Stag Country will be a little fuller than usual — that’s because family, friends, and alumni of Fairfield University will be on hand to help celebrate Alumni & Family Weekend 2023

Alumni & Family Weekend is an annual Fairfield tradition that offers a variety of fun activities and special events for students, alumni, and families. Alumni enjoy mini-reunions with friends and classmates, and they get to see first-hand what’s new on campus. Parents and families come to see how their students are doing after a couple of months away at college. The weekend is always filled with fun activities and events designed to entertain visitors of all ages.

As always, the weekend will include favorites like RugbyFest, Lil’ Stags Zone, athletics home games, food trucks, a Glee Club concert, Young Alumni Mug Night, museum tours, and academic events — including a study abroad panel.

The University continues to monitor the weather forecast for this weekend. Due to the predicted rain, StagFest has been relocated to the Barone Campus Center: the Lil’ Stags Zone, wine and beer garden, photo booth, and live entertainment will be held throughout the BCC. Food trucks, including Colony Grill, Alene’s Ice Cream, Donut Crazy, Fiesta Taco, Fire Engine Pizza, Flip Side Burger and Bar, Garden Catering, Micalizzi’s Brain Freeze Bar, Old Post Tavern, Super Duper Weenie, The Cheese Truck, Wing it On, and Bubble & Brew will be located in the Traffic Circle. StagFest will offer both indoor and outdoor seating (under tents).

Please be aware that during Alumni & Family Weekend, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., I-95 Northbound at Exit 17 will be closed and traffic will be detoured — expect travel delays. Learn More about the I-95 Norwalk Westport Project.
