With 17 digs in Wednesday’s win for Fairfield University Volleyball over Iona, Kyla Berg ’24 eclipsed 1,000 career digs for the Stags. Berg is the 18th student-athlete in program history to achieve the milestone.
A senior captain, Berg has recorded 1,008 digs in 289 sets of action over the last four years. Her career average of 3.38 digs per set currently ranks her at sixth in Fairfield history. For the current season, Berg leads the team and ranks fourth in the MAAC with 3.69 digs per set.
Wednesday’s 3-0 victory at Leo D. Mahoney Arena was the fourth consecutive win for the Fairfield volleyball team. The Stags are currently 11-5 overall and 7-1 in MAAC play.
Fairfield continues its homestand this weekend at Mahoney Arena, hosting conference foes Rider and Saint Peter’s on Oct. 14-15. First serve for both matches is slated for 1 p.m. Admission is free for all fans to all regular season home matches this season.
