Eric & Stacie Campbell P'24, Parents of Cecelia and Jacqueline '24, Pound Ridge, NY
Society progresses most rapidly when we hold out a hand and help those most in need. That is exactly what the Center for Social Impact at Fairfield University is committed to doing.
Our daughter, Jacqueline, gives of her time and talents at Fairfield; however, we believe it is she who benefits most from engaging in these acts of generosity alongside a community of like-minded individuals.
It is our greatest joy to donate to The Center for Social Impact to help support its dedication to the communities around us. The Humanitarian Action Fellows work with organizations such as the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants, Save the Children, and the Jesuit Refugee Service.
Ram Dass once said, “We are all just walking each other home.” Our breath always stops for a moment when we hear that. On our walk home, we have plenty of rainy days that give us the opportunity to share our umbrella with someone struggling to stay dry, and snowy days to reflect on the individuality of not just those sparkling flakes falling from the sky, but also ourselves and those around us. We learn to appreciate each person’s uniqueness and see where we can each help most.
We all can make a difference on someone’s walk home.
Jacqueline “Jackie” Campbell '24 is a student of the College of Arts & Sciences majoring in Public Relations and Education. Jackie is a Humanitarian Action Fellow with the Center for Social Impact, and was awarded the Newman Civic Fellow Award in the Spring of 2023. Jackie graduates this May and will begin teaching at Greenwich Country Day School.
