Ross Lecture Explores Urban Influence on Freshwater Ecosystems, Feb. 21

Matt Schuler, PhD, assistant professor at Montclair State University, will share his research on the topic.

An upcoming lecture in the Ross Lecture series will feature Matt Schuler, PhD, an esteemed assistant professor from the Department of Biology at Montclair State University, on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at 12 p.m. in the DiMenna-Nyselius Library.

Dr. Schuler's presentation, titled "Investigating How Urban Landscapes Alter Freshwater Environments," will focus on his research, which is to understand what drives the distribution, abundance, and coexistence of species in ecological communities. With mounting concerns about urbanization's impact on natural habitats, Dr. Schuler's expertise will offer insights into this pressing issue.

Attendees can expect a comprehensive exploration of the ways in which urbanization reshapes freshwater ecosystems. Dr. Schuler's research will shed light on the various mechanisms through which human activity transforms these vital environments.
