StartUp Showcase: Team Financially to Launch a Comprehensive Financial Wellness App

Financially’s mission is to provide users with a helping hand when it comes to financial stability and financial literacy.

In an attempt to assist others in achieving financial wellness, a StartUp Showcase team called Financially is focused on developing an app that addresses diverse needs and offers users innovative ways to help them understand their finances in an ever-changing economic climate.

No matter a user's prior fiscal knowledge, Financially aims to offer no-cost personalized tips and simplified financial education to support the development of a secure financial future. Financially team member Logan McAloon '25 shared that the unique features of Financially consist of two distinct paths of learning: one tailored to those who are starting from nothing, and the other for those seeking to take control of their financial situation.

“We differentiate ourselves from other financial education services as our educational resources do not require an expert understanding of personal finance to grasp. The second unique feature is financial wellness tips personalized for each user,” said McAloon.

The idea of the app came to CEO, Jack Fetzer '25, while on a personal quest for financial clarity. As he spent hours researching and educating himself to become finanically literate, he realized the need for guidance. Recognizing that users will come to the Financially app with varying levels of money know-how, Fetzer set out to create a more personalized approach to financial literacy.

Fetzer gathered a team of computer science and business students through the Fairfield StartUp program, pitching the concept at Showcase auditions. Team members share a common goal to develop the version-one release of their app, and push it out to the public.

“We are all extremely excited to show the world a better way to approach one's finances and grow toward financial success in a way that has not been seen before,” said McAloon.

Team members, Lucy Fowler '25, Lili Meddahi '25, and Jack Raisides '25, will join McAloon and Fetzer at the April 25 Showcase at the Quick Center.
