Students, faculty, staff, and the greater Fairfield community are invited to the North Benson campus for a festive evening of holiday cheer at the annual Holiday on the Plaza event: Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Egan Chapel Plaza. Join us to welcome the seasonal spirit to campus with lights, laughter, and good company.
The evening kicks off with a Holiday Gift Marketplace from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This is a perfect opportunity to browse and shop for stocking stuffers and ornaments while supporting local vendors. At 6 p.m., complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be available to keep guests warm and smiling as they soak in the holiday ambiance and enjoy songs of the season by carolers from the Glee Club's Bensonians and Sweet Harmony singing groups.
At 6:45 p.m., the highlight of the evening — the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony — will be led by President Mark R. Nemec, PhD. Gather with friends and colleagues as the plaza illuminates with festive lights, marking a joyful start to the holiday season. Lucas and Santa will be on hand for Stag Country holiday photos.
After the tree lighting, excitement will shift to the Leo D. Mahoney Arena as the Stags women's basketball team takes on the College of Staten Island in an exciting matchup starting at 7:10 p.m. Celebrate the holidays and show your Stag spirit by cheering on the team!
