Top-Seeded Stags Compete for Second Straight MAAC Championship This Weekend at Siena

The regular season champions have earned a bye to Saturday’s semifinal round.

Fairfield University's volleyball team will compete for the 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship this weekend at Siena’s UHY Center in Loudonville, N.Y. The top-seeded Stags are vying for their second consecutive MAAC Championship and the 14th in program history.

As the MAAC Regular Season Champion – the team’s 23rd in the last 29 seasons – Fairfield has earned a bye to the semifinal round of the tournament. The Stags take the court this Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. against an opponent to be determined by action earlier in the weekend. The 2024 MAAC Championship Match is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24.

Fairfield Volleyball was 17-1 in the MAAC as a part of a 19-11 overall record this season. The Stags are led by 2024 MAAC Coach of the Year Nancy Somera and boast a total of six All-MAAC student-athletes. Allie Elliott ’26, Mamie Krubally ’27 and Maya Walker ’26 were all tabbed for the All-MAAC First Team, the duo of Mikayla Haut ’25 and Blakely Montgomery ’25 was placed on the All-MAAC Second Team, and first-year Stag Harlan Wyche ’28 claimed a spot on the MAAC All-Rookie Team.
