Lent begins on March 5 and the Murphy Center for Ignatian Spirituality is embarking on two Lenten programs to support reflection, transformation, and prayer leading up to Resurrection Day.
2025 Lenten Reflections: A Podcast Series
The Murphy Center for Ignatian Spirituality invites all members of the campus community to tune in to the annual Lenten Reflections podcast series. The daily five-minute podcasts begin on Ash Wednesday, March 5, and conclude on Easter Sunday, April 20, with a scripture reading and guided reflection led by a new host each day.
To kick off the 2025 podcast series, President Mark R. Nemec, PhD, will host the first episode on Ash Wednesday. Rev. John Savard, S.J., ’78, director of Campus Ministry, described the podcast series and President Nemec’s involvement as, “a wonderful reflection of how the mission and spirituality at this Jesuit university is held in the hands of each of us...most importantly, the President.”
Through campus and local community members hosting each episode, Jeanne Mazzariello, director of this year's Lenten Reflections series, hopes to "educate and inspire our larger community about spirituality by showcasing reflections from diverse voices.”
To receive weekly emails with a list of readings and the coming week’s podcast reflections, register by Feb. 24 at fairfield.edu/mcis. Alternatively, the podcast episodes will be published to the Murphy Center webpage every Sunday under “Happening Now.”
