Julian Radossich ’27 and Raiana Brown led their respective teams to victory last week.

A pair of Fairfield University student-athletes each claimed national recognition this past week, turning in standout performances while leading their respective teams to victory. Julian Radossich ’27 of the Fairfield men’s lacrosse team was named the USA Lacrosse Player of the Week, while Fairfield women’s basketball graduate student Raiana Brown was tabbed as a USBWA National Player of the Week.

Radossich set a Fairfield record with seven caused turnovers in the Stags’ season-opening win over Lehigh to claim Player of the Week honors from USA Lacrosse. His caused turnovers mark was just one shy of the NCAA Division I record.

Last season, Radossich established the Fairfield single-season record of 27 caused turnovers en route to CAA Rookie of the Year and All-CAA First Team recognition.

Brown was selected as one of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s National Players of the Week after scoring 31-points on 11-for-11 shooting from the field in last Saturday’s win at crosstown Sacred Heart. Brown, who scored 12 points in a Thursday victory at Marist, was also named the MAAC Player of the Week and the Metropolitan Writers’ Player of the Week.

Brown is in her first season as a Stag after scoring more than 2,000 points at the Division II level, having spent time at both Queens College and Texas A&M International University.
