Women’s Basketball Wins Back-to-Back MAAC Championships

The Stags advanced to play Kansas State in the NCAA postseason.

For the first time in program history, Fairfield University Women’s Basketball went back-to-back as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Champion. The Stags defeated Quinnipiac, 76-53, in a nationally televised final on ESPNU to win the 2025 MAAC Championship on March 15 in Atlantic City.

The Stags’ sixth tournament title marks the first time that Fairfield has taken home back-to-back conference crowns. Fairfield has also won consecutive MAAC Regular Season Championships led by third-year head coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis. The Stags went on to earn a #12 seed in the NCAA postseason, where they fell to #5 Kansas State on a neutral court in Lexington, Ky.

Fairfield finished the 2024-25 campaign with a record of 28-5. In addition to a 19-1 run through the MAAC regular season, the Stags earned notable wins on the road against Arkansas and Wake Forest and also hosted and defeated Villanova at Leo D. Mahoney Arena. Fairfield is 59-7 overall and 39-1 in the MAAC in the last two seasons combined.

Meghan Andersen ’27 was named the MAAC Championship MVP after netting 27 points fueled by six three-pointers in the championship game. She was joined on the All-Championship Team by Raiana Brown and Kaety L’Amoreaux ’27.

Fairfield Women’s Basketball has won the MAAC Championship and appeared in the NCAA postseason in three of the last four seasons.
