This June, Run with the Stags… Again!

This year’s Faxon Law Half Marathon & 5K, Lucas Challenge, and Lil' Stags Kids Fun Run have miles of fun for everyone!

Fairfield University will once again be a proud sponsor of the Faxon Law Half Marathon and 5K on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2, 2019. Also, back for a third year is the Lil' Stags Kids Fun Run, as well as the Lucas Challenge — which dares runners to complete both the 5K and the half marathon, for a total of 16.2 miles in 25 hours.

The weekend’s events begin Saturday, June 1 with the 5K at 8 a.m., followed by the Lil’ Stags Kids Fun Run at 9 a.m. Then, on Sunday, June 2, the Half Marathon will start at 8 a.m., to be followed by a post-race beach party and awards ceremony.

Those who take on the Lucas Challenge will receive custom glassware, an exclusive medal, a one-of-a-kind race bib, and a bottle of Henkell Sparkling wine.

Ready to register? Students, alumni, family members, friends, and faculty & staff of Fairfield University can use the code STAG to receive 15% off any race. Children ages 4-12 who are Fairfield town residents, and children of Fairfield University alumni, faculty, and staff can run the Lil' Stags Kids Fun Run complimentary of Fairfield University by registering with the code FAIRFIELDKIDS. For members of the Fairfield Prep community, using the code PREP2019 will take $5 off any race. If you have already signed up for the race but would like to take advantage of a discount offer, please contact Jody Damsky at jody@jbsports.com.

Back again this year for the half marathon is the Fairfield University Cheer Station, located not far from the finish line on Puritan Road. FOX 95.9, along with Lucas the Stag, alumni, staff, students, and more will be dishing out music, high-fives, and cheers to get you through the final push. Want to be a part of the Cheer Station? Email tderosa@fairfield.edu for more information.

The Half Marathon race began in 1981 with only 200 runners, and has grown into one of the premier running events in the United States. Accolades for the race include being named two-time host of the U.S. Women’s National Half Marathon Championship, three-time host of the National Masters’ Half Marathon Championship, and routinely being selected as one of the country’s top road races by Runner’s World magazine.
