Piglet to Visit Fairfield University Downtown Bookstore, Sept. 25

The Author of Piglet: The Unexpected Story of a Deaf, Blind, Pink Puppy and His Family will visit the Fairfield University Downtown Bookstore, along with Piglet himself, to discuss their unique and inspirational bond.

Connecticut Veterinarian Melissa Shapiro, DVM, along with her dog Piglet, will visit the Fairfield University Downtown Bookstore for an in-person event in front of the store on Post Road.

In the tradition of the beloved New York Times bestsellers Marley and Me and Oogy: The Dog Only a Family Could Love, Piglet tells the story of a charming and inspirational deaf, blind, pink dog. A lifelong animal welfare advocate, mom to three children as well as many disabled rescue dogs and birds, Dr. Shapiro took Piglet in after he was rescued from a hoarding situation. Through empathy, resilience, and kindness, she forged a powerful bond with Piglet, allowing the two to communicate without sound or visual cues.

Copies of Piglet: The Unexpected Story of a Deaf Blind Pink Puppy and His Family are available for purchase at the Fairfield University Bookstore.
