Fairfield Women's Basketball locks up their first title since 2000.

With back-to-back wins over MAAC foes Quinnipiac and Monmouth, Fairfield Women’s Basketball secured at least a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship. The conference title is the first for the program since the 1999-2000 season.

"I think having a sense of purpose and a clear vision of what we want to try and accomplish gives us a level of determination," said Head Coach Joe Frager following the 59-54 win over the Bobcats. "When you win, confidence comes with that.”

Frager, who is in his 15th and final season coaching the Stags, has led the women's team to a 19-6 overall record and a 16-1 conference mark en route to his first MAAC Regular Season Championship.

The Stags will round out the regular season slate with three more MAAC clashes, including the final home game of the season on Thursday, March 3, against Rider. That contest at Webster Bank Arena is slated for 5 p.m. as the opening game of a Fairfield Basketball doubleheader. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster and at the Webster Bank Arena box office.

The 2022 MAAC Women’s Basketball Championship will emanate from Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City from March 8-12. More information on the Stags’ hunt for their first NCAA postseason berth since 2001 will be available at FairfieldStags.com as it is finalized by the conference office.
