Fairfield University Highlighted Among Top 5% Nationally by College Factual

The Dolan School’s business management & marketing, accounting, and finance programs were ranked in the top five percent of schools nationally by College Factual’s 2023 Best Colleges Ranking. The Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies was ranked in the top three percent.

Fairfield University’s bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate programs across the University received high national placement in College Factual’s 2023 College Rankings once again this year. The University has been ranked in the top ten percent in the nation, placing at No. 127 among 2,241 schools for overall quality.

In the Best Business Management & Marketing Schools Ranking category, Fairfield’s Charles F. Dolan School of Business earned the No. 67 spot for overall quality among 1,689 schools, placing in the top five percent in the U.S. and No. 2 in Connecticut. Fairfield Dolan also placed in the top three percent, landing at No. 27 out of 866 schools in the U.S. for Best Accounting Bachelor’s Degree Schools, and No. 14 out of 460 schools in the nation in the Best Accounting Master's Degree Schools category. Among Best Finance & Financial Management Schools, Fairfield was ranked No. 34 out of 649 and in the top five percent.

  • On the 2023 Best Nursing Schools list, Fairfield was ranked No. 47 out of 1,779 or Top 3% nationwide. Among 2023 Best Health Professions Schools, Fairfield was ranked No. 90 out 2,136 or Top 5%. 
  • Of 183 schools in the U.S. that were ranked in the Best Mental Health Counseling/Counselor Master's Degree Schools category, Fairfield took the No. 5 spot, placing in the Top 3%.
  • In the 2023 Best Clinical/Medical Social Work Master's Degree Schools category, Fairfield was ranked No. 2 among the best schools in the U.S.
  • Fairfield placed No. 63 out of 672 schools nationally and in the Top 10% on the Best Communication & Journalism Schools list.
  • The University placed No. 4 out of 112 on the 2023 Best Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling Master's Degree Schools list, and Top 5%.
  • For Best General Psychology Schools, Fairfield was ranked No. 156 out of 965, and Top 20%.

Additional national distinctions include Fairfield’s inclusion on College Factual’s list of top schools for master’s degree programs, placing among the top 15 percent in the country at No. 129. Fairfield also placed in the top ten percent at No.48 on the Best Grad Schools in the United States for Doctorate Degrees list, among 676 colleges and universities. Among schools in the U.S. that were included on the Best Value Schools for a Doctorate list, Fairfield was ranked No. 109 out of 675 for overall value, among the top 20 percent.

Statewide, Fairfield was ranked No. 3 and in the top ten percent of colleges and universities that offer four-year degrees, up two spots from last year’s ranking. Placements also include No. 1 among Best Communication & Journalism Schools in Connecticut, and No. 1 among Best Schools for Education in Connecticut.

Reflecting the strong programming of the School of Education and Human Development, among 2023 Best Value Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instructor Schools in the New England Region, Fairfield landed the No. 3 spot on the list. The University also fared well in the 2023 Best Value Elementary Teaching Schools in the New England Region ranking, earning the No. 7 spot, and on the Best Value Education Schools in the New England Region list.

On the Best Value Master’s Degree Colleges for Computer Engineering in the New England Region, Fairfield was ranked No. 1. The School of Engineering also placed No. 1 for Best Value Colleges for Software Engineering in the New England Region, and No 2 for Best Value Graduate Degree Colleges for Mechanical Engineering in the New England Region.

Fairfield was ranked No. 2 among schools in the Best Value Family Practice Nursing Schools in the New England Region that were part of the 2023 ranking, and No. 1 Best Family Practice Nurse/Nursing Schools in the New England Region. Fairfield also came in at No. 4 for the Best Value Mental Health Services Schools in the New England Region.

College Factual’s rankings are based on objective data and focused on student outcomes. General factors include accreditation, student body caliber, educational resources such as student to faculty ratio, freshmen retention rate, graduation rates, and post-graduate earnings.
