As the national demand for public health and healthcare service mangers is projected to skyrocket by 28 percent over the next decade, so is the need for thoughtful leaders who can guide management decisions and public policy to better serve patients and improve the health of people and communities.
On Thursday, February 23, at 6:30 p.m., Fairfield University’s Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies will host a virtual graduate information session for prospective students interested in fast-tracking a career in either of these growing fields by pursing their Master of Public Health (MPH) or MS in Healthcare Administration. Attendees will learn about the University’s fully online graduate programs from Egan faculty members, and will have the opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session following the presentation.
Registration for the virtual event is required in advance and available online at www.fairfield.edu/gradinfo.
“Fairfield’s online master’s programs in Healthcare Administration and Public Health offer a unique combination of flexibility with part-time and full-time options,” said Robert Schnieders, vice president of online strategy and innovation. “Both are highly interactive programs in which students engage in practical and interdisciplinary coursework, while building their professional network and learning from faculty who are at the top of their fields.”
Developed by the Egan School with support from Fairfield’s Dolan School of Business, the MS in Healthcare Administration program provides professionals with the knowledge, networking opportunities, and hands-on experience to pursue a wide range of healthcare-related careers. The program complements various fields of study from nursing, medicine, and other healthcare disciplines to science and business, and other non-healthcare related fields. As part of the degree program, students complete practicum and capstone experiences that bring their coursework together into one comprehensive, real-world project that focuses on developing solutions to today’s most pressing healthcare problems.
Egan’s newest graduate program, the Master of Public Health, offers a customizable interdisciplinary curriculum designed to meet the broad spectrum of in-demand careers within the field. The program concludes with a two-semester capstone project involving a research or applied project, as well as a hands-on field experience at a location of the student's choosing.
